El rincon de la lectura

So, I decided to start a new corner, The reading corner! I divided my book in boxes, red for english, and yellow for spanish and I got some books with Cds too. So, in our guided reading groups when I they have independent reading, they can read with the CDs and they loveeeee it! Because it is new, and they can listen and read at the same time.

Examenes

Cuando pienso en los examenes que hacen mis ni;os, medito, no comprendo muy bien porque tienen que hacer tantiiiisimos examenes:
DRA, ELD, LBD, Phonics, Math, CELA, ORG,HFW....
I think is just too much.

Is it work? I am not sure, because you dont know if they are showing all that they know or they are tried of taking test.

The song

So I love when we have this course in Beaver Creek and in one of the conferences they taught us about a classroom management, it was so simple, just choose a song for one activity for your kids, for example:
When they have to show to the teacher their journals, one teacher chose a song for that time.

So, I had a hard time when my kids have to line up....and I choose a song. "Share" by Jack Johnson. It works perfect, they hear the beginning and they move so quick that it is amazing, when they get all together in a perfect line, they start moving their heads and when in the song they start to clap they clap with the music. IT JUST AWESOME! I wish I could record it.

P.S: My kids rock!

2. How will you clearly communicate learning objectives and performance outcomes to students?

Writing the objectives on the board. They have to read them with me, and again to their partner and at the end of the lesson they will have to give feedback to their partner thinking in the objective if they accomplish the objective.

RED TOOL KIT STRATEGY

So, today all my kids were awesome, we finished one activity, we went to the carpet to close the lesson and Peter Pan start to make strange movements and suddenly comes to my mind and I said:
_ Peter, I need your help with something. I need you to go to Mr.R and ask him to give you the RED TOOL KIT, ok? Do you understand? Yes, perfect, go!

AND IT WORKED!!!!! He came so much relaxed and ready to start a next lesson. It was awesome.

Thank you so much for teaching me this strategy.
